Filmmaker and producer Shiboprosad Mukherjee announced the theatrical release dates of four upcoming Windows Production films on Facebook today.

Aritra Mukherjee’s Baba Baby O, Kaushik Ganguly’s Lokkhi Chhele and Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s own directorial ventures Belashuru and Haami 2 will be released next year.

The Jisshu Sengupta-starrer Baba Baby O, which marks the big-screen debut of television actress Solanki Roy, will be the first Windows Production film to be released in theatres since the pandemic hit last year. The last film released by the production house was Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti (2020). A story of a single father of twins born via surrogacy, Baba Baby O will be released on 4 February.

Conceived as a prequel to Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee's commercially successful film Belaseshe (2009), Belashuru will be out on 20 May. One of the last films of late acting legend Soumitra Chatterjee and Swatilekha Sengupta, who died in June this year, Belashuru will also have Rituparna Sengupta, Aparajita Adhya, Kharaj Mukherjee and Indrani Dutta reprising their roles.

National award-winning director Kaushik Ganguly’s first film with son Ujaan, Lokkhi Chhele will hit the screens on 17 June. The film had its world premiere at the Heartland International Film Festival in October 2020 and was screened at the RapidLion South African International Film Festival this year.

The sequel to Haami, Mukherjee and Roy’s highest-grossing film in 2018, Haami 2 will be released on 23 December. The film will see Mukherjee and Koneenica Banerjee reprising their roles.
