Avijit Sen’s upcoming film Tonic, starring Dev Adhikari and Paran Bandopadhyay, will be released in theatres on 24 December.

The family drama features Shakuntala Barua, Sujan Mukopadhyay, Koneenica Banerjee, Biswanath Basu and Rajatava Dutta.

Adhikari plays the titular character, who allows 75-year-old Jaladhar Sen (Bandopadhyay) and his wife (Barua) to experience a second youth.

The senior citizens feel stifled by their controlling son (Mukhopadhyay) and daughter-in-Law (Banerjee). While the younger couple celebrates lavishly on themselves, they arrange a modest get-together for the elders' 46th wedding anniversary. And though Jaladhar plans a foreign trip, it, unfortunately, gets cancelled.

Enter Tonic, a travel agent who not only inspires the elderly couple to follow their hearts but also takes Jaladhar and his wife on adventures.

The Dev Adhikari-starrer Golondaaj, directed by Dhrubo Banerjee, is currently running in theatres in West Bengal.
