The short video app Josh concluded the first edition of its JFLIX Film Festival in Goa yesterday. The one-of-its-kind one-minute festival saw participation by more than 47,000 aspiring filmmakers.
The festival aimed to encourage and celebrate vertical video content created on smartphones. The call for entries was made on the Josh app for short films across genres like rom coms, musicals, comedy, action, fashion, drama and travel, all within the time span of a minute.
The entries were judged by Farah Khan, Kunal Kohli and Prabhu Deva who also attended the grand finale with other celebrities like Dino Morea, rappers Badshah and Raftaar, Vivek Oberoi, Urvashi Rautela, Amal Malik and Suniel Shetty.
The final event was hosted by Oberoi, Rautela and influencer Faisal Shaikh.
Mumbai-based filmmaker Shray Rai Tiwari won the Superhit Film award for Best Picture, with a chance to attend the Oscars after-party next year.
Special awards were given to winners across categories like Ghunghroo Tod for Best Musical Film, Lajawaab Local for Best Regional Film and LOLercoaster for Best Comedy Film. All the winners will have the opportunity to assist Farah Khan and Kunal Kohli in their upcoming projects.
