Shahid Kapoor has moved on to his next big project, an action entertainer with director Ali Abbas Zafar. The actor is shooting for the Ek Tha Tiger (2012) director's next crime caper in the United Arab Emirates.

Kapoor recently wrapped up shooting for his debut web-series, helmed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. The actor went on a small family vacation before beginning to shoot for Zafar's project.

Reports suggest that Zafar's film will be an adaptation of Frederic Jardin's 2011 action thriller Nuit Blanche. The film revolves around a police detective pulling a heist on a drug cartel. However, the production house has not confirmed any details. Regardless, Zafar's description confirmed that the film will be a 'mad, quirky' action thriller with 'guns and gangs'.

Zafar's last major venture was the Amazon Prime series Taandav, starring Saif Ali Khan. The series ran into major controversies because of some scenes.

Shahid Kapoor is awaiting his first major release for 2021 in Jersey, a Hindi-language remake of the Telugu film of the same name. Jersey will release in theatres on 31 December this year.
