Amazon Prime Video announced the streaming date of the Venkatesh Daggubati-starrer Drushyam 2 via a teaser today. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the sequel of the mystery thriller Drushyam (2014) will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from 25 November.
Drushyam is the Telugu remake of Joseph’s Malayalam film Drishyam (2013). Drishyam 2 (2021), the sequel to the original film, is being streamed on Amazon Prime Video and has received a good response from viewers.
Also featuring Meena Durairaj, Kruthika Jayakumar, Esther Anil, Sampath Raj and Poorna, Drushyam 2 is set six years since the events of Drushyam. The sequel shows Rambabu [Daggubati] as a changed man; however, a criminal investigation ensues threatening the wellbeing of his family. As tables turn, it falls on Rambabu to give it his all and protect his close ones yet again in this tale of deceit, lies and mystery.
The teaser shows those in charge of the investigation being determined not to spare anyone to unearth the truth, while Rambabu, on the other hand, appears steady in the face of the threat.
Drishyam, a Hindi adaptation of the original Malayalam film, starring Ajay Devgan, Tabu and Sriya Sharan, was also made in 2015. There are talks regarding the sequel of the Hindi remake, but no official announcement has been made so far.
