My Special Ops 1.5 character is beautifully written, says Vinay Pathak

Actor Vinay Pathak will be playing the character of Abbas in Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story, the second instalment of the Disney+ Hotstar series Special Ops. Conceived as a prequel, the series will take the audience back in time to unravel the formative years of the protagonist, RAW agent Himmat Singh, played by Kay Kay Menon.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair of Friday Storytellers, the series features Aftab Shivdasani and Aadil Khan, Aishwarya Sushmita, Maria Ryaboshapka, Gautami Kapoor, Parmeet Sethi and KP Mukherjee while Shital Bhatia is the producer.

According to Pathak, his character evolved greatly since the first draft of the screenplay. “Neeraj and I have had our differences when the first draft was written... Abbas has emerged as is very endearing for me because he’s written the way he comes out. Abbas is written so beautifully that he became fascinating to me,” he said.

Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story will be premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on 12 November.
