Satyameva Jayate 2 song ‘Kusu Kusu’: Nora Fatehi’s item numbers are getting repetitive

Directed by Milap Zaveri, this comes across as just another sensual dance track featuring the actress.

Nora Fatehi

Keyur Seta

One of the highlights of Milap Zaveri’s Satyameva Jayate (2018) was Nora Fatehi’s item number ‘Dilbar,’ a remix of a song from Sirf Tum (1999) picturized on Sushmita Sen.

Now that Zaveri is back with Satyameva Jayate 2, it naturally features another item song revolving around Fatehi, titled Kusu Kusu.’

In between ‘Dilbar’ and ‘Kusu Kusu’, Fatehi also did a couple of other item numbers such as ‘Saki Saki’ from Batla House (2019) and ‘Ek Toh Kum Zindagani’ from Marjaavaan (2019, another film directed by Zaveri). She was also seen in the track ‘Garmi’ in Street Dancer 3D (2020), in which she also had a character to play.

Fatehi’s item songs, their settings, sensual dance steps and costumes are becoming repetitive. Hence, there is nothing new to experience in 'Kusu Kusu'.

To make matters worse, the title phrase has been overused in the song. Tanishk Bagchi’s performance as a lyricist and music composer is passable here. Zahrah Khan’s voice is the only silver lining here. Dev Negi’s rap portion is also a plus.

The song also features the vigilante character played by John Abraham, who seems to be on a mission. In between, we also get to see flashes of the cop avatar of the actor bashing up baddies.

Satyameva Jayate 2 is scheduled to be released on 25 November.

Check out the song and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
