Bhalchandra Kadam and Kushal Badrike's Pandu set for release on 3 December

The film, helmed by Viju Mane, is a tribute to the late yesteryear Marathi star and filmmaker Dada Kondke.

Dada Kondke's Pandu Hawaldar (1975) was a very important film in Marathi pop culture. Now, popular Marathi comedy actors Bhalchandra Kadam and Kushal Badrike are set to play the roles played by the late Kondke and Ashok Saraf, respectively, in their upcoming remake, Pandu.

The remake has been helmed by Viju Mane. A short teaser for the film begins by paying homage to Dada Kondke and introduces Pandu played by Kadam and Mhadu played by Badrike. From their police uniforms, it seems the film is set in the 1970s.

Speaking about the film, Kadam said, "In the current tense situation, there is nothing more sacred than entertaining the audience and relieving their stress. I am confident that Pandu will cater to the needs of the audience 100%. Working with director Viju Mane has always been fun. Playing this role is a big and important thing for me."

Badrike said, "I am playing the role of Mhadu Havaldar in this film. Bhau and I have entertained people through various mediums till date. There is no doubt that this film will continue this tradition."

Badrike and Kadam have been working together for the past seven years on Zee Marathi's comedy show Chala Hawa Yeu Dya.

Produced by Zee Studios, Pandu is scheduled to be released in theatres on 3 December 2021. Watch the teaser below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
