Superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted on 28 October at the Kauvery hospital in Chennai, was discharged last evening.
After undergoing a carotid artery revascularization procedure, the septuagenarian recovered well, according to a medical bulletin.
A day after receiving the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award in New Delhi, Rajinikanth had complained of giddiness and was rushed to the Kauvery hospital.
On Sunday evening, Rajinikanth took to Twitter to post a picture and wrote simply, “Returned home.”

A day after Rajinikanth was hospitalized, his relative and actor Y Gee Mahendran spoke to the media. He said: “He is resting at the hospital right now. I’m not sure of the treatment he is getting, but he is fine. He would be released before the release of Annaatthe (2021).”
Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe is due to be released in cinemas on 4 November for Diwali. Tipped to be a rural drama, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Khushbu Sundar and has been produced by Sun Pictures with music by D Imman.
