Team RRR urges public to get vaccinated in COVID-19 awareness video

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli and the lead artistes from his upcoming Telugu period drama RRR (2021), which includes Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, have urged the public to get vaccinated in a new COVID-19 awareness video which was unveiled yesterday.
In the video, Alia Bhatt speaks in Telugu while Ram Charan and Jr NTR speak in Tamil and Kannada, respectively. Ajay Devgn speaks in Hindi and the director himself in Malayalam.
The video is about how cases have spiked unbelievably in the second wave of COVID-19 and urge people to wear masks, use sanitizers and maintain physical distancing to contain the spread of the virus the way the country did with success last year. They also urge viewers not to believe rumours about the vaccines and to get vaccinated if eligible.
The video also emphasizes the importance of staying at home as much as possible and stepping out only if absolutely necessary. Finally, the team urges the public to pledge to wear masks and get vaccinated.
Sharing the video on Twitter, Rajamouli wrote: “Wear a mask and get vaccinated when available! Let’s stand together to stop the spread and save the country from COVID-19.”

RRR is scheduled to be released in theatres in October. The film, which has been made on a lavish budget, is a fictional story set in the 1920s in the pre-Independence era but is based on the lives of two real freedom fighters — Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.
