Veteran actress Sriprada died of COVID-19 complications in Bangalore yesterday. She was 54.

News of the actress's death was shared by the Cine & Television Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) on social media.

"CINTAA expresses its deepest condolence on the demise of #SriPrada (member since March 1989)," the organization tweeted.

The actress worked in many Hindi films such as Aag Ke Sholay (1988), Meri Lalkaar (1990), Shaitani Ilaaka (1990), Aag Aur Chingari (1994) and Lootere Pyar Ke (2001). She also worked in a few South Indian films and television shows.

Sriprada had worked with many big names from the Hindi film industry, including the likes of Govinda, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna and Gulshan Grover.

A report in ETimes quoted CINTAA general secretary Amit Behl as saying, "Sriprada had done incredible work down South as well as in Hindi cinema. It is very unfortunate that they have lost a very senior actress."

Ravi Kishan, MP from Gorakhpur, who worked with the actress in the Bhojpuri film Hum To Ho Gayi Ni Tohar (2005), which marked Sriprada's last on-screen performance, offered his condolences. He said she had a great nature and was very humble.
