Coronavirus update: Marathi actress Abhilasha Patil dies of COVID-19


She had appeared in popular films such as Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) and Chhichhore (2019).

Marathi actress Abhilasha Patil died of COVID-19 on Tuesday. She had gone to Benares to shoot for a project but returned to Mumbai a few days ago after showing symptoms of the coronavirus. She was admitted to a hospital after testing positive and was later moved to the intensive care unit. 

Patil has starred in Marathi movies such as Te Aath Divas (2015), Pipsi (2018), Bayko Deta Ka Bayko (2020), Prawaas (2020) and Tujha Majha Arrange Marriage (2021) as well as several television serials. She has also been a part of many popular Hindi projects such as Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Good Newwz (2019), Malaal (2019) and Chhichhore (2019).

Shocked by her untimely demise, several of Patil's former colleagues took to social media to pay tribute to the actress.

Her Prawaas co-star and director, Shashank Udapurkar, and actress Pallavi Ajay tweeted their condolences, hailing Patil's enthusiasm and work ethic on the sets.
