OHO Gujarati’s Sambhlo Chho? brings alive stories by Jhaverchand Meghani


The platform commenced streaming the show on 30 May. Each episode, which is around 25 minutes long, has been directed by Gaurang Kabira.

OHO Gujarati’s latest series Sambhlo Chho? brings to life stories by famous author Jhaverchand Meghani.

The platform commenced streaming the five-episode show on 30 May.

The series, whose title translates to ‘Are You Listening?’ in Gujarati, adapts the stories Sadashiv Tapali, Rama Ne Shu Sujhyu, Rohini, Badmaash and Burai Na Dwaar Par Thi.

Each episode, which is around 25 minutes long, has been directed by Gaurang Kabira.

According to a press release, these tales are presented through the art form of Vaachikam, a medium of storytelling.

Abhishek Jain, the co-founder of OHO Gujarati, stated that the platform wanted to revive the stories and folklore of Gujarati culture and bring attention to them again. Therefore, Jain felt it was natural for them to showcase Meghani’s stories.

“He was rightfully called the national poet by Mahatma Gandhi for his immense contribution to Gujarati literature through his poems, folklore, dramas, books, short stories and much more,” the filmmaker stated. “He was not just a poet and writer but also a freedom fighter, journalist and social reformer. His writings made him the standout of the flock. His literary work is a treasure, and Saurashtra Ni Rasdhar being a notable one needs to be shared with the world. We at OHO Gujarati feel proud and privileged to showcase his work through our platform.”

The cast of Samblo Chho? comprises a number of notable names from Gujarati cinema and theatre including Abhinay Banker, Nisarg Trivedi, Aarti Patel, Mayur Chauhan, Ojas Rawal, Happy Nayak, Kalpana Gagdekar, Prem Gadhavi, Chetan Daiya, Ankit Gor, Vaishakh Ratanben, Rahul Raval, Mansi Shah, Gopal Hari, Saumya Thaker, Darshil Damanii, Navid Kadri, Ravi Gohil, Sohni Bhatt and Nilesh Parmar.
