Sonalee Kulkarni’s father Manohar attacked by trespasser

Renowned Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni’s father Manohar Kulkarni sustained a knife injury after a trespasser allegedly turned up at their home in Nigdi, Pimpri-Chinchwad around 7.30 am on Tuesday.

The Nigdi police have said that the suspect has been identified as a 24-year-old, who was first spotted by their house help. He had climbed up a pipe, landing on the terrace of Kulkarni’s residence. When he was confronted by Manohar Kulkarni, the accused allegedly took out a knife and slashed the victim's hand before fleeing.

A police officer from the Nigdi police station told the Indian Express newspaper, “The man’s motive is being probed. Our primary probe points to him being a fan of the actress. While the family said in a statement that the suspect’s motive was robbery, only the probe would ascertain the exact cause.”

Sonalee Kulkarni was recently in the news after she revealed that she married her fiancé Kunal Benodekar in Dubai on 7 May. She made the announcement on social media on her birthday on 18 May.
