In an attempt to celebrate the bravery of the common man amid the devastating second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, Richa Chadha has started an online initiative named The Kindry.

The Instagram page of the initiative came into being on Tuesday. It will be managed by the actress and Krishan Jagiya, the designer and co-founder of The Kindry.

The page will also host various live sessions, chats and interactions with everyday heroes, as well as influencers and other notable persons who have done substantial work for the wellbeing of the people.

The initiative will also reward them, thus incentivizing good behaviour.

The actress said that by amplifying stories of courage and selflessness, she believed we can create a community of empathetic people who are willing to help each other. "We’re looking at crowd-funding partnerships to provide encouragement to these unsung heroes. Going forward, they will also focus on creating short films, songs and podcasts that spread the message of kindness," said Chadha.

The actress, however, added that she didn't want to tell people to be positive and ignore the all-too-painful reality. "That is nothing but toxic positivity. At the same time, The Kindry will not be about fluffy pink clouds and unicorns, but incidents actually happening around us which don't get amplified as much as they ought to. People also deserve to hear stories of real-life heroes," she said.

Chadha was last seen in the Subhash Kapoor-directed political drama Madam Chief Minister (2021).
