Actor Dulquer Salmaan took to Instagram to share the latest poster of the upcoming Malayalam film Salute.
The poster features Dulquer in khaki and in the middle of what appears to be a political rally.
Sharing the poster, he wrote: “Some day when all this passes, we will get back to making movies that you all want to watch. And when you do, maybe, just maybe, for those brief moments it will be like none of this ever happened. #staystrong #staysafe #weshallovercome #thistooshallpass #salute #justalittledistraction (sic).”
Salute, a cop drama, stars Dulquer as sub-inspector Aravind Karunakaran. This is the first time in his career that Dulquer is playing a police officer.
Salute, which also stars Diana Penty and Manoj K Jayan, is being directed by Rosshan Andrrews.
On the career front, Dulquer is awaiting the release of the film Kurup (2021). The Malayalam film, directed by Srinath, centres on Sukumara Kurup, a family man who, after reading about a crime involving the embezzlement of insurance money in Germany, allegedly insured himself and scripted his own death by murdering a man, Chacko, and collected the payout.
It has been over three decades since the crime took place and Kurup remains at large. Dulquer will be seen playing Kurup in the film, which reunites him with Srinath after nine years. They had previously worked together on Second Show (2012).
Dulquer also recently completed shooting for the upcoming Tamil romantic drama Hey Sinamika, which marks the directorial debut of choreographer Brindha. The film stars Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari as the leading ladies.
Hey Sinamika has been produced by Jio Studios in association with Global One Studios. It marks the entry of Jio Studios into Tamil cinema.
