Ravi Kishan has made a special appearance in the recently released MX Player web-series Runaway Lugaai. One of the reasons why he agreed to do so was the fact that it is shot in his home state, Bihar.

“When I was approached for Runaway Lugaai, I liked the concept of the show," Ravi Kishan said in a statement. "Also, I appreciated the thought of shooting for it in Bihar, especially in a few unexplored locations.”

Ravi Kishan believes mainstream cinema has not explored Bihar much in all these years. “Bihar is beautiful and I feel Hindi showbiz has not fully exploited its potential as a shooting location, especially the interiors of the state,” the member of Parliament from Gorakhpur in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh said.

Directed by Avinash Das, Runaway Lugaai stars Ruhi Singh, Naveen Kasturia, Aarya Babbar and Chittaranjan Tripathy. The story is about Ruhi Singh’s character marrying Kasturia’s and then running away. Hence, the title.

The deadly Bihar floods took place when the team was shooting the show last year. “There were floods in Bihar at the time of the shoot, but as a producer, Aarrav [Jindal] kept the team together and ensured the team completed the shoot despite all the challenges,” said Ravi Kishan.

The actor believes the show has come at the right time. “I also liked the fact that the show is light-hearted and is a breezy watch in these gloomy times,” he said.
