Zee5’s upcoming web-series Sunflower is about the eponymous fictional middle-class housing society where different types of characters reside. This description brings to our mind the light-hearted and humorous long-running television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Sunflower, however, is a murder mystery with a dash of humour.
Artistes such as Sunil Grover, Ashish Vidyarthi, Mukul Chadda, Shonali Nagrani, Ashwin Kaushal, Radha Bhatt and Saloni Khanna play the residents of the society. Vidyarthi plays Dilip Iyer, a respected elder who wants ‘Indian culture’ to flourish.
The lives of the residents come to a standstill when a murder takes place in room number 1001. A cop duo, played by Ranvir Shorey and Girish Kulkarni, arrives to solve the case.
Grover plays the lead in the show but not much is revealed about his character.
Sunflower seems to be a promising mystery with an impressive cast. It has been written and directed by Vikas Bahl and Rahul Sengupta, the former of which is also the creator of the show.
Sunflower will be streamed from 11 June.
Check out the teaser and let us know if you keen on watching the show.
