Akshay Bardapurkar's Planet Marathi to celebrate fourth anniversary by honouring 'Covid warriors'

The production house will honour celebrities as well as ordinary people who helped those struggling to cope with the pandemic.

Akshay Bardapurkar's brainchild Planet Marathi completed four years today. The production house was launched on 13 May 2017. To celebrate its fourth anniversary, Planet Marathi has undertaken a programme called Planet Marathi Salaam where it will honour celebrities as well as ordinary people who helped those struggling to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The concept was introduced by Planet Marathi's social media assistant vice-president Jayanti Bamne-Waghdare.

Speaking about the initiative, Planet Marathi chairman and managing director Bardapurkar said, "This four-year journey of Planet Marathi has been enjoyable. We are happy that Planet Marathi has completed four years, but seeing what our country is going through, this is not the right time to celebrate. Keeping its commitment to society in mind, Planet Marathi has started an initiative called Planet Marathi's Salute to the 'warriors' who fought during this period. It will honour celebrities as well as the general public, all those who have helped in this battle in various ways."

AB Aani CD (2020) was the first film produced by Bardapurkar under the Planet Marathi banner. The production house has two more films lined up for release — Goshta Eka Paithanichi (2021) and Chandramukhi (2021).
