Amitabh Bachchan raises awareness about vaccination at VAX Live

To raise funds for vaccines and urge people to get the jab, many renowned celebrities and politicians came together for Global Citizen VAX Live: The Concert To Reunite The World, an initiative started to create awareness about vaccination and help those reeling under the pandemic.

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, who attended the concert virtually, urged people to stand alongside India and help out in whatever way possible.

Speaking after Prince Harry concluded his small speech, he said, ''Namaskar, this is Amitabh Bachchan. My country India is battling with the sudden surge of the second wave of COVID-19. As a global citizen, I appeal to all global citizens to rise up, speak to your governments, pharmaceutical companies and ask them to donate, to give, to extend a helping hand, to the public that needs it the most. Every effort counts."

He ended his talk with a Mahatma Gandhi quote: ''In a gentle way you can shake the world."

The concert saw several celebrities and world-renowned singers, including Meghan Markle, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez and Ben Affleck, in attendance.
