Actress Sai Pallavi, who turned a year older on Sunday, took to Twitter to thank all those who wished her on her birthday. Moved by the wishes of her fans and well-wishers, the artiste said she didn’t expect so much love during this dark phase.

“I’m lost for words. Even during this dark phase, you wonderful people took time off your lives to make this one soul happy. I’m deeply moved. Thank you all for the love and blessings. God bless you all (sic),” she tweeted.

On the occasion of Sai Pallavi’s birthday, the makers of her upcoming Telugu film Shyam Singha Roy unveiled the first look of her character.

Going by the poster, where the actress is depicted as the goddess Durga, it looks like she plays a Bengali character.

Being directed by Taxiwaala (2018) helmer Rahul Sankrityan, the film also stars Krithi Shetty.

Sai Pallavi currently has two Telugu films — Love Story and Virataparvam — ready for release. In Sekhar Kammula’s Love Story, she plays a Telangana-based character.

In Virataparvam, Sai Pallavi will be seen playing a character inspired by Belli Lalitha, a folk singer turned activist and she played a crucial role in the fight for statehood of the Telangana region in the early 1990s. She was kidnapped and killed in 1999.
