Bikramjeet Kanwarpal died today morning of COVID-19 complications. The 52-year-old actor had been admitted to the hospital.
A former major in the Indian army, Kanwarpal made his film debut in 2003 with Pooja Bhatt’s Paap. The prolific actor went to appear in a number of television and film projects.
Born on 29 August 1968 in Himachal Pradesh, Kanwarpal followed in the footsteps of his father, lieutenant colonel Dwarka Nath Kanwarpal, enlisting in the military three years after graduating from The Lawrence School, Sanawar in 1986.
In 2002, he retired from the army to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. After his film debut, he performed in several films such as Don (2006), Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year (2009), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), Indu Sarkar (2017) and Marjaavan (2019).
On television, he played supporting characters on shows such as the Anil Kapoor-starrer 24, Crime Patrol Dastak, Adaalat, and Diya Aur Baati Hum. He was also part of recent web-series such as Special Ops (2020), Illegal (2020), Your Honor (2020), Undekhi (2020) and Avrodh: The Siege Within (2020).
His colleagues and friends in the industry eulogized Kanwarpal, nicknamed ‘Bizz’, as a warm individual and a thorough professional.

Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passed away. I first met him standing in line for an audition all the way back in 2003 - 2004. We bumped into each other many times over the years and did keep in touch on and off. Goodbye Major... We'll meet in another line someplace somewhere pic.twitter.com/rvUXrNVzNq
