Abhinay 'Delhi Belly' Deo creates ad film for Unacademy with Sachin Tendulkar


The ad campaign, called ‘The Greatest Lesson’, emphasizes not giving up in the face of adversity.

Ad filmmaker Abhinay Deo, who made his feature film debut with the pathbreaking dark comedy Delhi Belly (2011), has returned to ad films with a new campaign called ‘The Greatest Lesson’ for Unacademy, an e-learning website.

The TVC, which has already crossed 6.5 million views on YouTube, shows how former cricket star Sachin Tendulkar overcame multiple failures to emerge as the 'god of cricket'.

The two-minute TVC narrates how a true hero rises up to the challenge. The campaign also underlines that failure should never be forgotten but embraced and used to work towards one's goals.

Abhinay Deo said in a statement, “One seldom gets a chance to make a poignant film like this which centres on the concept of never giving up in the face of adversity. Who better than the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar to be the face of such a strong message to the youth of today?”

Deo and his team had to scrounge through thousands of hours of footage of the Master Blaster’s various innings, from his first one to the last, and put together an edit that could do justice to the brand message and to a lifetime of hard work and achievement by one of the game's all-time greats.

Meanwhile, Abhinay Deo is gearing up for his next feature film Aankhen 2 with Amitabh Bachchan, a sequel to Vipul Shah's blockbuster hit Aankhen (2002).
