In January 2021, Mantena announced the complete takeover of the Phantom Films after Vikramaditya Motwane, Kashyap and Bahl sold their shares in the production company to him.
Mantena will be partnering with Reliance Entertainment, which will hold 50% of the remaining shares in the company.
Founded in 2011 by Kashyap, Motwane, Bahl and Mantena, Phantom Films was officially dissolved in the wake of accusations of sexual harassment against Bahl. Kashyap and Motwane announced their split from Bahl in 2018.
Incidentally, Pannu was part of one of Phantom Film's last ventures, Manmarziyaan (2018), which was directed by Kashyap.
Reports suggest that 22 locations are being raided by the income tax department based on allegations of tax evasion.
