Maalik trailer: Fahadh Faasil is an influential figure in this gripping political thriller

Ending a year's suspense, Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil's much-awaited film Maalik's trailer has finally been released. From the trailer, it looks like director Mahesh Narayanan and his team have come up with an intriguing political thriller.

It starts with police planning systematically the murder of a powerful leader, Sulaiman (Fahadh Faasil), who is now locked up in jail. The police want to stir up religious conflict in the upcoming election using his murder as an excuse. But it's not going to be easy, because Sulaiman commands the unconditional love and loyalty of people from his community.

As the trailer progresses, we see the younger version of Sulaiman and how he ends up becoming an influential leader. We see glimpses of him leading political campaigns and leading a mob with his trusted friends. Young actress Nimisha Sajayan seems to be playing Fahadh's wife in the film.

The film, written and directed by Mahesh Narayanan, marks the third collaboration between the filmmaker and Faasil after Take Off (2017) and C U Soon (2020).

Maalik also features other artistes like Joju George, Maala Parvathi, Dileesh Pothan, Divya Prabha, Salim Kumar and Indrans. The film is slated to be released in theatres on 13 May. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
