The Hollywood monster movie Godzilla vs Kong continued its good run on its second day in India, raking in Rs4.75 crore [nett], as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The movie, which continues to perform well in South India — especially Tamil Nadu, registered an impressive opening collection of Rs6.25 crore (nett).

The film, however, hasn’t performed as well as other popular Hollywood films in the Hindi or non-South markets because of the rise in COVID-19 cases and the restrictions that come with it. The situation in Maharashtra has affected the film the most.

Godzilla vs Kong has so far made an impressive Rs11 crore in its first two days. Considering that these are not normal circumstances by any means, it’s a phenomenal number. The film is expected to make a dent in box office over the extended first weekend.

Amole Gupte’s Saina Nehwal biopic, which arrived in theatres on Friday, registered a low opening collection by the afternoon. The film is likely to be affected by the popularity of Godzilla vs Kong.
