Starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Madhumita Sarkar, Tangra Blues is the first Bengali musical drama to showcase the music of the slums of Kolkata. The film is slated to be released on 15 April, on the occasion of Bengali New Year.
The Anirban Bhattacharya-starrer Psycho will arrive in West Bengal cinemas on 21 May. The gripping thriller, with death as its central theme, will explore the psychology of a serial killer, played by Bhattacharya himself. The film will also feature Anirban Chakrabarti.
A period drama based on the life of the father of Indian football, Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari, Golondaaj will hit the screens on 13 August. Starring Dev as the iconic figure, the film will also feature Anirban Bhattacharya, Ishaa Saha, Indrasis Roy and Srikanta Acharaya.
Mukherji’s Kakababur Protyaborton was initially supposed to release in the last year. However, the adventure film will be out on 8 October. Based on Jongoler Modhye Ek Hotel by Sunil Ganguly, the film will take the audience into the wilds of Africa.
Ray will bring two of his father’s iconic creations — the physicist and an inventor Professor Shonku and fabled sleuth Feluda — together in Shonku Aar Feluda in order to pay homage to the legend on his centenary. Though the cast has not been announced yet, the film will be released on 24 December.
