Veteran producer Firoz A Nadiadwala will venture into the digital medium with Art Of War: No Retreat No Surrender, a web-series on the threat of currency counterfeiting.
While the producer is best known for his comic productions like Phir Hera Pheri (2006), Welcome (2007) and Welcome Back (2015), Art Of War will be an action thriller.
The story revolves around a special forces officer who uncovers an Indian currency counterfeiting operation conducted by international cartels. When law-enforcement agencies ignore his appeals for action, he engages seven die-hard patriots for the mission.
A statement from the production house said, 'A fast and furious trail of patriotism, sacrifice, grit, espionage and action follows. Art Of War aims at exposing international cartels counterfeiting billions of Indian and US currency every year to fund global civil unrest, terrorism, human-trafficking cartels.'
The statement also confirmed that the production will be helmed by multiple directors and shot across India and in overseas locations. One of the locations will be Jammu & Kashmir, for which the producer met Girish Chandra Murmu, comptroller and auditor general of India, who earlier was the first lieutenant governor of the newly created Union territory.
The production house is yet to finalize the cast. It has also not revealed the OTT platform on which the web-series will be streamed.
There have been intermittent reports of Nadiadwala working on the third instalment of the Hera Pheri franchise. Nothing has been confirmed yet, however.
