Hashtag Prem trailer: Mitali Mayekar, Suyash Tilak fall in love during a trip to Goa

The scenario of a guy and a girl falling in love after being forced to travel together has been done to death — in Hindi cinema, Imtiaz Ali has made a career with this trope alone. Rajesh Jadhav’s Marathi movie Hashtag Prem seems to be another such romantic road movie. 

The story is about a young girl (Mitali Mayekar) who has to reach Goa but is stranded. She has no choice but to accept a lift from a stranger (Suyash Tilak) who is travelling to his hometown solo. 

As expected, the ride doesn’t turn out to be a smooth one, and the couple encounters various incidents and obstacles during their journey. 

In a story that has been explored many times, it is important for the audience to enjoy the predictability. That doesn’t quite happen here since the incidents seen in the trailer do little to excite you. And like many other trailers, this one also reveals quite a lot of the plot. 

Mayekar is known for her glamorous roles. But she looks good without make-up, as per the requirement of the story. Tilak seems to give a decent performance. Apart from acting in more than a handful of Marathi films, he made his Hindi film debut in Khaali Peeli (2020). 

Hashtag Prem will be released in theatres on 19 March.
