Kshitee Jog turns producer with Marathi film Jhimma

Actress Kshitee Jog has turned producer with the Marathi film Jhimma. The project will be presented under her newly launched production banner Chalchitra Company.

Jhimma is being directed by Jog's husband Hemant Dhome and stars the actress as well as Sonalee Kulkarni, Sayali Sanjeev, Mrinmayee Godbole, Nirmiti Sawant, Suhas Joshi, Suchitra Bandekar and, the sole actor, Siddharth Chandekar.

The actress said in a statement, "I wanted to make my foray into film production with a subject that is close to my heart and Jhimma gave me this opportunity. I had decided that I would make the movies that I like to watch and I'm glad that Jhimma has turned out exactly how I wanted it to be. Because of this film, I got a chance to spend time with my friends and observe Hemant's direction closely. The film will be released soon and although it is about women, I wish that every man also watches it."

The film sees seven women from different walks of life come together and plan a trip to England.

Jhimma will be released in theatres on 23 April.
