New Satyameva Jayate 2 poster hints at John Abraham’s double role

The makers of Milap Zaveri’s John Abraham-starrer Satyameva Jayate 2 (2021) had revealed in January that the film would be released on Eid this year, along with Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai (2021).

Producer T-Series has confirmed that just like Radhe, their film will also be released on Thursday 13 May to capitalize on the festival of Ramzan Eid.

Khan has been releasing his films regularly on Eid for more than a decade. But this is the first time another big film will be clashing with his on the festival.

Interestingly, the new poster of Satyameva Jayate 2 shows John fighting himself. While one is in a police uniform, the other is in plain clothes. This gives the idea that the actor might be playing a double role in the film.

In fact, speculation about John playing a double role has been going on since last year. During an interview with the tabloid Mumbai Mirror, when asked if he has a double role in the film, John had said, “I hope that’s true, but Milap is still in the process of developing certain characters and he might like me to play other roles, too. But that’s still up for a lot of discussion. So, I can’t say if there’s going to be one, two or three of me in the film.” 

Satyameva Jayate 2 sees the return of Divya Khosla Kumar, wife of producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, on the screen, more than 15 years after her debut in Anil Sharma’s Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo (2004).
