Khushi Ambient Media Solutions and filmmaker Abhishek Jain’s firm CineMan have joined forces to come up with the first-ever over-the-top platform for Gujarati content, OHO Gujarati.
They recently launched the logo of the platform in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Speaking about the launch, Jain told the news agency Asian News International (ANI), “Since the start of my journey into Gujarati films back in 2011, I have been grateful to the audiences for their positive reciprocation and it is only their love for the language that has pushed us into making more and more Gujarati content.”
Highlighting the need to start OHO Gujarati, he added, “Right after a decade, today, we feel the need to tell stories from every corner of Gujarat. To be able to collaborate with every talent available in our vicinity, and to fulfil this, we need a movement of content creation. Thus OHO was born out of people’s need to tell their story to the people of Gujarat. We proudly call it ‘gaamdathilai global sudhini gujarati vartao.’ [Gujarati stories emerging from villages to global areas]."
OHO Gujarati will feature movies, web-series, documentaries, plays, literature, talk shows and music videos.
The promoters announced through a video that the platform will showcase acclaimed films like Kevi Rite Jaish (2012), Bey Yaar (2014), Wrong Side Raju (2016) and Vitamin She (2017). It will also be a place for old Gujarati films from the black-and-white era and original web-series like OK Boss, Kadak Meethi, Sambhlo Cho?, Tuition and Cutting.
The biggest attraction, however, is the Pratik Gandhi-starrer Vitthal Teedi.
