Abhishek Bachchan-starrer The Big Bull to be released on 8 April, see teaser

The feature film, presented by Ajay Devgn, will be available to subscribers of Disney+ Hotstar VIP and Disney+ Hotstar Premium.

The Abhishek Bachchan film The Big Bull (2021), whose digital premiere was announced last June, is finally due to be released on 8 April. The feature film, presented by Ajay Devgn, will be available to subscribers of Disney+ Hotstar VIP and Disney+ Hotstar Premium.

A new teaser video of the film, directed by Kookie Gulati, shows Bachchan as Hemant Shah, a stockbroker who runs “the mother of all scams”.

The feature is inspired by the life of the late stockbroker, Harshad Mehta, whose nickname was the “Big Bull”. Last year, the SonyLIV web-series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, starring Pratik Gandhi, was hailed by critics and audiences alike for its in-depth look at one of India's biggest financial frauds.

This version seems to follow the same trajectory with Bachchan as a lower-class boy who aims to get rich through the stock market. He dreams big with flashy cars and lavish flats until it all catches up with him eventually. The short teaser is narrated by presenter Ajay Devgn who states, "Chhote gharon mein paida hone walon ko aksar bade sapne karne se mana kar leti hai duniya, issi liye ussne apni duniya khadi kar li [Those born in small houses are discouraged from dreaming big, that's why he decided to make his own world]."

Besides Bachchan, The Big Bull stars Ileana D'Cruz as an investigative journalist, along with Nikita Dutta, Soham Shah, Ram Kapoor, Supriya Pathak and Saurabh Shukla.

The Big Bull is being produced by Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit, with Kumar Mangat Pathak and Vikrant Sharma as co-producers.
