The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed a special leave petition before the Supreme Court of India seeking the cancellation of the bail granted to Rhea Chakraborty in the alleged drugs angle of the case of Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

The actress was granted bail on a bond of Rs1 lakh by the Bombay high court in October 2020.

The plea will be heard by a bench comprising chief justice SA Bobde, justice AS Bopanna and justice V Ramsubramaniam on 18 March.

Chakraborty was arrested on charges of possession of drugs by the NCB in September 2020, along with 11 others. Though the actress was eventually granted bail, the actress's brother Showik, who was also arrested under similar charges, was released in December.

The Bombay high court's decision to grant bail came a day after a special court had extended the actress' custody till 20 October.

Following this, the NCB submitted a 12,000-page chargesheet against 33 people, including Chakraborty, on 5 March.

The Jalebi (2018) actress is also under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate, which is investigating the death of Rajput.
