Sharad Ponkshe is all set to make his digital debut in Planet Marathi's recently announced six-episode web-series. Shooting for the untitled series, which features Parna Pethe, Uday Nene and Tejas Barve, commenced on 15 March in Mumbai.
The show, which will be helmed by Amit Kanhere and feature dialogues by Yogesh Joshi, revolves around a family and the issues they face.
Planet Marathi's CMD Akshay Bardapurkar said the series was a departure of sorts. "It's a very serious topic but we decided to give it a little comedic touch and present it in a light-hearted manner," he said.
Composer duo Rohan Gokhale and Rohan Pradhan will write the music for the series, which is being produced by Pratik Vyas and Kanhere.
Ponkshe, who has been actively involved in cinema, television and theatre for the past three decades, was diagnosed with cancer three years ago. After battling with the disease for many months, he made a comeback in 2019 with the play Himalayachi Savli.
