Coronavirus update: Manoj Bajpayee in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19


The director of the actor's upcoming film Despatch, Kanu Behl, has also contracted the virus.

Actor Manoj Bajpayee has tested positive for COVID-19. He was shooting for Ronnie Screwvala's film Despatch. The shoot had to be halted and is likely to recommence after a few months. The director, Kanu Behl, has also contracted the virus.

As per reports, the actor has quarantined himself at home.

Bajpayee's publicist said in a statement, "Manoj was shooting for Despatch, which is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The actor is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions. We wish him for super recovery."

Despatch is an investigative thriller set in the world of crime journalism. Bajpayee who started shooting for the film in February essays the role of a man who finds himself sucked into the nexus of business and crime.

Apart from this, Bajpayee will soon be seen in the film Silence: Can You Hear It? along with Arjun Mathur and Prachi Desai, which will be streamed on Zee5 on 26 March.

Earlier this week actor Ranbir Kapoor also tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently under home quarantine.
