Arijit Singh makes debut as music composer in Netflix’s Pagglait

Award-winning singer Arijit Singh, who is known for powerful love ballads, will don the hat of music composer for the first time for the upcoming Netflix film Pagglait (2021) starring Sanya Malhotra.

Commenting on the official announcement, Singh stated, “I make my debut as a music composer with a project very close to my heart. I am honoured to serve music to the world. The endearing story of Sandhya of self-belief and triumph is much like my musical journey and I feel honoured to be associated with a special film like Pagglait.’’

In the film directed by Umesh Bist, Malhotra plays Sandhya, newly widowed, and trying to figure out her feelings after the untimely death of her husband, just months after their marriage. The ensemble cast includes Sayani Gupta, Shrutii Sharma, Ashutosh Rana, Raghubir Yadav, Sheeba Chaddha, Meghna Malik and Rajesh Tailang.

Pagglait is due to be streamed on Netflix from 26 March.
