The makers of Chehre (2021) are playing their cards close to their chest. The intriguing teaser to the Rumy Jafry film reveals very little, except throwing light on the key conflicts that the film will play out. With Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, and Annu Kapoor delivering chilling voiceovers, the teaser begins the promotions of the film set to release on 9 April.
One thing that the teaser clarifies is the key conflict in the plot of the film. Annu Kapoor introduces it by saying, "There is no one in this world who is completely innocent of a crime." This is followed by an exasperated Emraan Hashmi saying, "In this world, an honest man is one who has not yet been caught committing a crime, while an innocent man is one who has not yet been proven guilty." The last line is left to Amitabh Bachchan, whose raspy voice echoes, "Our courts do not have justice, but judgments."
Incidentally, the teaser does not feature Rhea Chakraborty who was set to make her comeback into the industry with this film. Chehre is produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Private Limited.
The thriller is directed by Rumy Jafry, and features Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Annu Kapoor, Krystle D'Souza, Drithiman Chatterjee, Raghubir Yadav, Siddhanth Kapoor, and Rhea Chakraborty. The film was initially scheduled for a release on 30 April but has now been moved up to 9 April.
