Gulzar, Vishal Bhardwaj to reunite as lyricist-composer duo for Darlings

Legendary lyricist and poet Gulzar is all set to reunite with music director and filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj in the upcoming film Darlings. The movie is being produced jointly by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Alia Bhatt’s newly-found banner Eternal Sunshine Productions. 

The news was shared by Bhardwaj on Facebook. “Excited to collaborate once again with my favourite, Gulzar saab, for the music of the upcoming dark comedy Darlings, presented by Red Chillies Entertainment & Eternal Sunshine Productions,” he said. 

Darlings will star Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew. The film marks the directorial debut of Jasmeet K Reen, who has written Force 2 (2016), Fanney Khan (2018) and Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019). 

Bhatt launched her banner and announced Darlings on 1 March. According to the title teaser of the film, insulting women can be harmful to your health.

Gulzar and Bhardwaj go back a long way. The poet has penned the lyrics for Bhardwaj's films, which featured the filmmaker's original compositions.
