Actress Alia Bhatt has launched her first film, Darlings (2022), under her own banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions, and Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment.
The upcoming feature, which will be directed by Jasmeet K Reen, will star Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew.
The actress announced her own banner on Sunday in a cheery post that stated, “Let us tell you tales. Happy tales. Warm and fuzzy tales. Real tales. Timeless tales.”
Bhatt, whose father Mahesh and grandfather Nanabhai were also producers, also shared a video announcing the title of the project.
The video for the dark comedy comes with a warning that states “Auraton ka apmaan, aapki sehat ke liye bahut haanikaara ho sakta hai [Insulting women can become harmful to your health]”, indicating that the film is women-centric.
The film marks the directorial debut of Reen, who wrote the screenplay for the 2019 remake of Pati Patni Aur Woh.
The young actress, who also launched an eco-friendly clothing line last year, has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Dear Zindagi (2016).
There is no word yet on when Darlings will go on the floors or be released.
