Yashpal Sharma is making a sequel to his directorial debut film Dada Lakhmi

The actor will also be seen in Bunty Aur Babli 2 and The Great Indian Family.

Actor Yashpal Sharma, who has made his directorial debut with Dada Lakhmi (2021), a biopic of Haryanvi poet and folk artiste Pandit Lakhmichand, has revealed that he is already working on a sequel. “We are currently writing the film,” said Sharma, who plays the titular role.

Explaining why he is planning a sequel before the first part has been released, Sharma said, “It was difficult to tell the entire story in one film. It’s a musical film. It is ready and is doing the rounds of festivals and has won quite a few awards.”

Sharma has a few other film projects lined up, including a couple with the Yash Raj banner. “I am doing Bunty Aur Babli 2,” he said. “I am also doing another Yash Raj film, The Great Indian Family, with Vicky Kaushal. It’s directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. I am also doing the web-series on [slain Uttar Pradesh gangster] Vikas Dubey. The shoot has been halted currently by the lockdown.”

Sharma also has a satire in the form of Mooso: The Mouse awaiting release. His performance in the film won him the Om Puri award for Best Actor at last year’s LIFFT India Festival. Deepankar Prakash was named Best Director for the same movie. “It will be released directly on OTT,” Sharma said.
