The Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF), in collaboration with the embassy of Spain in New Delhi and The Instituto Cervantes, will be screening films by renowned Spanish filmmaker Luis Buñuel.

In a segment titled ‘Enigma & Provocation: The Cinema of Luis Buñuel’, five films will be screened — Viridiana (1961), The Exterminating Angel (1962), Belle de Jour (1967), Tristana (1970) and The Discreet Charm Of The Bourgeoisie (1972).

The screenings will take place as part of the DIFF Virtual Viewing Room, a year-round online platform where curated packages of films from around the world are screened. The screenings are free and will be made available virtually from 11–21 June.

The programme also features a special conversation between philologist and journalist David Felipe Arranz and independent researcher Iyesha Geeth Abbas on Saturday 19 June at 5 pm. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A session.
