Salman Khan sought contempt action against Kamaal R Khan, commonly known as KRK, in a Mumbai civil court on Monday. Despite this, the latter has continued his online tirade against the Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai (2021) actor.

In his application seeking contempt action, Salman stated that the Deshdrohi (2008) director was still making defamatory statements against him online despite the civil court restraining him from all such activities. According to the legal website BarandBench.com, the application stated that Kamaal R Khan ''has no regard whatsoever for the order and he was repeatedly, wilfully committing contempt by making defamatory comments against Khan.''

The contempt plea comes in the wake of a defamation suit filed by Salman against KRK. While the latter alleged he was being targetted over a scathing review of Salman's recent film, the legal firm representing Salman put out a statement claiming that the suit had been filed because "Kamaal R Khan has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations, including that Mr Salman Khan is corrupt, that he and his brand 'Being Human' are involved in fraud, manipulation and money laundering transactions, that he and Salman Khan Films are dacoits."

KRK termed Salman ''Bollywood ka gunda [gangster]" in a recent tweet.

No stranger to controversy, Kamaal R Khan has got into hot water legally due to his caustic remarks about several figures from the Hindi film industry including Vikram Bhatt, Richa Chadha and Vashu Bhagnani.
