Yami Gautam marries her Uri director Aditya Dhar in private ceremony

Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar were married today in a private ceremony attended only by their families.

The actress first met the filmmaker on his National award-winning directorial debut Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019).

The couple revealed their marriage with a surprise announcement on social media.

The actress wrote on Instagram: "In your light, I learn to love – Rumi. With the blessings of our family, we have tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony today. Being very private people, we celebrated this joyous occasion with our immediate family. As we embark on the journey of love and friendship, we seek all your blessings and good wishes. Love, Yami and Aditya.”

Yami Gautam, whose latest release was the Netflix film Ginny Weds Sunny (2020), is awaiting the release of the horror comedy Bhoot Police (2021) with Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez.

She has also shot for the upcoming Dasvi with Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur. The actress also has the digital film, A Thursday, in which she plays a teacher who takes her charges hostage.

Dhar, meanwhile, is reuniting with his Uri star Vicky Kaushal for The Immortal Ashwatthama for a superhero film inspired by the Mahabharata.
