Telugu actor-critic Mahesh Kathi injured in road accident, to undergo reconstructive surgeries

The artiste was on his way back to Hyderabad from Chittoor. His car collided with a truck on the outskirts of Nellore.

Telugu actor-critic Mahesh Kathi, who suffered severe injuries in a road accident on Saturday near Nellore, is currently stable and out of danger. According to reports, however, he will have to undergo a craniofacial reconstruction operation.

Mahesh Kathi met with the accident while on his way back to Hyderabad from his hometown in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. The accident took place on the outskirts of Nellore when his car collided with a truck. The actor and popular film critic suffered multiple injuries to the face.

According to a report on the news portal TheNewsMinute.com, Mahesh Kathi has been shifted from Nellore to a private hospital in Chennai where a team of doctors is attending to him. He will have to undergo a craniofacial reconstruction operation and eye surgery, the report said.

Mahesh Kathi rose to popularity as a critic with his cut-throat opinions. He eventually started playing minor roles in Telugu films. He made his directorial debut with the 2015 romantic comedy, Pesarattu.

He has also co-written Telugu films such as Minugurulu (2014) and Egise Taara Juvvalu (2017). He made his acting debut with the 2014 Telugu spoof Hrudayakaaleyam and was recently seen as a reporter in Ravi Teja’s Krack (2021).
