On the heels of the series State Of Siege: 26/11 (2020), another original Zee5 project that deals with a hostage situation will make its way to the streaming platform on 9 July. State Of Siege: Temple Attack (2021), starring Akshay Khanna, has been directed by Ken Ghosh.

The 50-second teaser gives but a glimpse of what lies ahead in the action drama. The film features Vivek Dahiya and Gautam Rode as members of a team of National Security Guard (NSG) commandos who have been selected to protect the temple and try and save the hostages from terrorists.

The teaser also shows the terrorists attempting to infiltrate the temple. After the holy site is compromised, several devotees are seen huddled together as the terrorists watch over them. Once Khanna’s team arrives, he has little backup and even less time to try and evacuate them.

Ghosh said, "State Of Siege: Temple Attack is not just a film, it is a tribute to the NSG commandos of India who are always ready to risk their lives to protect us. As a son of a naval officer, I have grown up in awe of our armed forces. In State Of Siege: Temple Attack, we have tried our best to give a fitting tribute to our heroes.”

Produced by Contiloe Pictures, State Of Siege: Temple Attack is based on the terrorist attack on the Akshardham temple in Gujarat's capital Gandhinagar in 2002.
