Malayalam cinema has been getting a lot of appreciation lately from film fans for the quality of its content. Many actors from Hindi and other regional industries have acted or shown an interest in working in Malayalam films.
Actor Siddharth Menon, who has been working in the Marathi and Hindi film industries for the past 10 years, is also eager to do films in his mother tongue.
"I'm born Malayali so I would definitely love to work in Malayalam films," Menon said. "In fact, just before the lockdown [last year], I was going to do a Malayalam film. The casting process and all the pre-production were done, I had even rehearsed a few scenes, but as we were going on the floors the lockdown was announced and the project never came back."
The actor said he is a huge fan of Malayalam cinema and has watched many Malayalam movies. "In fact, I agreed to work on Qarib Qarib Singlle (2017) and Karwaan (2018) for Parvathy and Dulquer [Salmaan, respectively]," he revealed. "They are among the top actors in the country and just sharing screen space with them was a blessing. But yes, I'm waiting for offers."
Siddharth Menon will be seen next in June alongside Nehha Pendse Bayas. The film, directed by Suhrud Godbole and Vaibhav Khisti, will be streamed on Planet Marathi OTT from 30 June.
