Kartik Aaryan signs on for Sameer Vidwans's Hindi debut, Satyanarayan Ki Katha

Kartik Aaryan has signed on for yet another on-screen romance, Satyanarayan Ki Katha, which marks the Hindi directorial debut of Sameer Vidwans.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala's NGE Movies and Namah Pictures, the film is being promoted as an 'epic love story'. 

Aaryan, whose last on-screen film was Love Aaj Kal (2020), shared the announcement of the new project on his social media. 

The announcement teaser reveals very little except for floral decorations and the promise of romance. Vidwans has directed several Marathi features including the acclaimed YZ (2016), Double Seat (2015) and Anandi Gopal (2019). The latter film won the filmmaker a National award. Vidwans is also helming the upcoming season of the MX Player web-series Samantar 2. 

He shared the teaser on Twitter, writing, "A new journey begins. keep showering your love & warmest of wishes to tread this path (sic)."

The film also marks the maiden collaboration between NGE Movies and Aaryan.

In a statement, Nadiadwala said, "This will be our first time working with Kartik and he brings new energy to the project. Satyanarayan Ki Katha makes for a script that calls for this perfect union and we are looking forward to bringing this ultimate love story to the audience." 

The statement also quoted Aaryan as saying, "I have been wanting to work with Sajid sir for some time now. I couldn’t have asked for better collaboration. Satyanarayan Ki Katha is a musical love saga that brings together a powerhouse of people who are National award-winning names. It’s also a first for me with Sameer Vidwans sir who has an astute sense of making sensitive topics highly entertaining.”

Satyanarayan Ki Katha is expected to go on the floors later this year and is expected to be ready for a theatrical release in 2022.
