The lyricist-composer duo has collaborated several times previously in films such as Dil Se... (1998), Slumdog Millionaire (2009), Raavan (2010) and more recently OK Jaanu (2017).
Rahman recently turned storywriter with the film 99 Songs, which was released on Netflix earlier this year. 'Meri Pukaar Suno' will be the first non-film album piece that the duo has teamed up for in a long time. The release date of the single is yet to be announced.
Rahman is also expected to compose music for the Akshay Kumar-Dhanush-Sara Ali Khan starrer Atrangi Re in addition to Mani Ratnam's upcoming fantasy epic Ponniyin Selvan.
