Cutting (Season 1) trailer: The comical Gujarati web-series is set in a men’s salon

Directed by Pratik Kothari, the show stars Mayur Chauhan aka Michael and Hemang Shah.

Female beauty parlours have been used as settings a lot in movies and television serials. But the upcoming Gujarati web-series Cutting is set in a men’s salon.

Directed by Pratik Kothari and written by Abhinav Vaidya, Cutting is a comical show that revolves around two brothers (played by Mayur Chauhan aka Michael and Hemang Shah) who run a men’s salon or, as many in India call it, a hair-cutting saloon.

The show introduces the salon as a place that offers some relaxation and calm to men amidst their daily struggles and professional and personal stress. The story is about the everyday adventures and misadventures of the two central characters and their customers hailing from different backgrounds.

A visit to a salon often exposes one to funny conversations. Hence, the web-series certainly has a lot of scope for humour. And going by the trailer, it seems the makers have tapped this unexplored territory to create numerous funny sequences. Of course, it is a given that a mistake while cutting someone's hair would also be a source of humour.

Chauhan and Shah appear perfect for their roles as barbers. All in all, the trailer looks promising.

Cutting (Season 1) will be streamed on the OHO Gujarati platform from 20 June. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the show.
